SEAP Games was initiated by Laung Sukhumnaipradit, by then Vice President of Olympic Committee of Thailand. The aim is to strengthen cooperation, understanding and relations between countries in the ASEAN region.Thailand, Burma (now Myanmar), Malaysia, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia (with Singapore included later) is the pioneer countries. They agreed to hold this event every two years.
