Anwar: Coalition Opposition Divided will not!

KUALA LUMPUR - Malaysian opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim said the coalition will not disintegrate even though he was found guilty in the case of sodomy and sentenced to prison.

Anwar was charged in 2008 for allegedly having sex with a kind of aide. Saiful Bukhari Azlan accusation was repeatedly rebuffed by the lawyer Anwar.

The charges were also considered a scenario of the Malaysian Government to remove Anwar from the political stage. When Anwar was convicted, the 64-year-old politician was sentenced to 20 years.

"It does not matter if I was in or outside the prison, one very important thing is people need to overthrow the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO)," Anwar said, as quoted by AFP on Thursday (05/01/2012).

Malaysia opposition coalition led by the People's Justice Party (PKR) won enough seats in the Parliament of Malaysia in 2008. It was a blow to the Barisan Nasional Party that has mastered Malaysia for half a century.

Anwar sodomy trial will also be continued in Kuala Lumpur on 9 January. Until now the Malaysian Police threatened to stop all demonstrations that support the release of Anwar.

Members also have launched a campaign PKR 901 Free Anwar criticized by the National Front and the Government of Malaysia. The Malaysian government rate, the campaign did not respect the law and will damage the image of Malaysia. (
