Abuja-A gunman shot dead three people in a series of attacks that occurred on in Nigeria.
Two people were shot dead a local city officials and the other one is a woman. The attack on Wednesday occurred in three cities, the city of Maiduguri, Damaturu and Jigawa.
"Nigeria Police will not tolerate discriminatory acts and crimes against innocent citizens. The Nigerian must love and obey the law regardless of faith, ethnicity and their territory," said Police Inspector Hafiz Ringim as quoted by The Hindu, Thursday, (5 / 1 / 2012).
The shooting allegedly carried out by the Islamic militant group Boko Haram. This group has repeatedly perform acts of terror and anxiety-related causes of religious conflict in Nigeria.
Earlier this year, the Government of Nigeria announced an emergency situation, following the bombings carried out by Boko Haram on the night of Christmas celebrations. Approximately 50 people were reported killed in the incident. (
